Hand and machine needle-felted wool roving comprise this felted work. Smaller felted pieces were used to create three-dimensional effects. Hand sewn bead and yarn embellishment was added to areas. The felted piece was then trimmed and hand stitched onto a texturized stretched canvas, so that the canvas not only became the base for the felting but also the frame around it. The stretched canvas is meant to look like a slab of stone and is designed so that the colors and textures complement the felt.
