A large piece of Nuno felting forms the backdrop for this piece. Yarn-wrapped upholstery edge roll, beading, Nuno felted smaller pieces, couched yarn fringe, and additional needle felted areas are used to add further embellishment. The entire composition is hand sewn onto a fabric covered gallery-wrapped canvas. The inspiration for the piece came from a small sunken wooded area containing a felled tree and dappled sunlight in Homestead Heath in London, England.
