This is a felted piece made from needle felted wool roving. Color blended roving was gradually hand felted on top of the felting, until the desired painterly effect was achieved. Hand sewn bead embellishment was added to areas of the felting. The piece was trimmed and hand stitched onto a textured stretched canvas, which is used as the base for the felting and a frame around it. The canvas is meant to look like a slab of stone that reflects the colors and textures of the felt.
